Botox® if applied to skin has no effect, so what is it with all the skin care products calling themselves “Botox® in a bottle”?

Botox® injections. That is a neurotoxin which, when injected directly into the muscle causes lasting paralysis. Instead, topical skin care treatments usually contain active ingredients such as certain peptides.

Instead of paralyzing the muscle, these ingredients work by blocking the transmission of the impulses in the area of the nerve/muscle interface and thus cause the muscle fibers to relax. These substances have surprisingly good results when applied topically to the critical places. When the muscles relax the overlying skin smooth. If the skin is allowed to lie smooth, there is less chance for lines and wrinkles to develop.

Existing wrinkles are reduced or they do not occur during preventative use. Anti-wrinkle peptides are a safe, less expensive and gentler alternative to botulotoxin. They influence the same wrinkle creating mechanisms in a different way. The effect is achieved through a non-invasive treatment without the use of injections.

We must not forget that these skin care products are applied to the skin and must exert their anti-wrinkle effect after passing through the skin, they tend to work best in areas where the skin is very thin with lots of small muscles directly underneath.
The areas around the eyes and mouth are great examples of areas where topical products like I'm Fabulous Cosmetics Super Peptide Anti-Ageing serum containing anti-wrinkle peptides work best. They are also the areas that tend to develop fine lines and wrinkles first and were an imprecise application of Botox® can do the most damage.
