Great Aftercare For Post Facial Fillers Injections

Post Juvederm Bruising… “How Long Will It Last? Can I Speed Healing?” – these are the questions we ask our aesthetic practitioner once dermal filler procedure is over.

Cosmetic treatments, such as dermal fillers injections, do a great job filling out lines and wrinkles, enhancing lipsrestoring facial volume, but they can cause temporary bruising and swelling.
Although bruising from fillers is normal and should be expected, no one likes it. A bruise causes discoloration and sometimes is quite difficult to cover up. Many patients wish to return to normal daily activities without announcing to their colleagues and family members they’ve just had an aesthetic treatment, so to avoid patients’ complaints, treatment of bruises should be a main priority for an aesthetic practitioner.
No plastic surgeon can guarantee that you will not bruise from injectable treatments, but the good news is that there is a lot you can do before and even after your appointment to minimize any unsightly colouring and in some cases prevent it all together.
Here are a few pre and post treatment tips that can help you avoid any unnecessary bruising:
  • Avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Advil. These medications reduce activity of platelets, which are the cells in your blood that stop bleeding and bruising when your blood vessels are damaged. If your platelets don’t seal off the blood vessels that are disrupted during injectable treatments, your likelihood of getting a bruise is much higher than normal. Avoid these medications for at least a week prior to your treatment. If you need pain medication, consider Tylenol as a substitute.
  • Avoid Wine & Alcohol. Alcohol also has some anti-platelet effects and increases your chances of bruising in the same way that Aspirin does. Avoiding alcohol the night before and the night you have your injectable treatment really helps to prevent bruising.
  • Use Numbing Cream. If your aesthetic practitioner applies numbing cream about 30 minutes before starting the injections, it will help prevent bruising and make you more comfortable during the treatment. Some anesthetics slightly constrict blood vessels making bruising less likely.
  • Use Ice. Apply ice pack to the treatment area before and after your injection. Cold constricts blood vessels, they become smaller and less likely to get in the way of a needle.
  • Use Anti-Bruising Supplements.Take Arnica - a supplement that reduces bleeding and inflammation. Place four Arnica pills under your tongue, twice a day. Take Bromelain - a pineapple-based enzyme that also helps to reduce inflammation and bruising. Bromelain is helpful in reducing any swelling after the procedure and may be taken three days prior to your treatment and continue for one week after.

If you do bruise, use anti-bruising cream Chelaskin Stop the Bruise Cream with Lactoferrin – the post-filler, post-mesotherapy, post-sclerotherapy, post-laser, post skin-roller, post-dermabrasion, post-rhinoplasty treatment.
Some cancer patients cannot use facial fillers so we highly recommend facial topical voumizing serum like the Powerful volumizing organic serum.

Be aware Fraudulent Versions of Botox Found in the United States

The company selling the fraudulent versions of Botox goes by the names “Online Botox Pharmacy,” “Onlinebotox.com,” and “Onlinebotox.” At the time this alert was issued, the company did not appear to be selling its products over the internet. Instead, the company has been using “blast faxes” to solicit sales from medical practices, typically selling products at prices below those of FDA-approved products. As is the case with many companies that sell fraudulent products, Online Botox Pharmacy uses a U.S. return address when sending packages to medical practices, even though the products are from foreign sources.
Medications purchased from foreign or unlicensed sources may be misbranded, adulterated, counterfeit, contaminated, improperly stored and transported, ineffective, and/or unsafe.  Medical practices that purchase and administer illegal and unapproved medications from foreign sources are putting patients’ health at risk, as patients may not be getting proper treatment.
FDA-approved Botox for injection (100 units/vial), manufactured by Allergan, displays the active ingredient as “OnabotulinumtoxinA” on the outer carton and vial.  Currently, there is no indication that Allergan’s FDA-approved version is at risk, and this product should be considered safe and effective for its intended and approved uses.
Suspect fraudulent products can be identified as follows:
  • the outer carton displays the active ingredient as “Botulinum Toxin Type A”; or
  • the lot numbers and expiration dates on the outer carton and accompanying vial do not match.

Thus far, the following examples have been confirmed as fraudulent Botox. Products with any of these lot numbers and expiration dates should be considered suspect.

Do you have Crow’s feet? Here the solution...

Crow’s feet

We all know what crow’s feet are. There are three causes for this very common eye problem:
  1. The constant action of the eye area muscles when we smile and squint.
  2. The loss of elasticity and collagen in the skin mostly from skin damage.
  3. The loss of underlying supportive tissue like fat, muscle and bone.
The first thing to do for crows feet is to protect the skin from further damage. Yes! Use an eye-area sunscreen every morning.
I have some recommendations, and the ones that are linked will take you to SkinCareRx.com if you want to see them or buy them now.  You may want to try Dermalogica Total Eye Care SPF 15 or Colorescience My Favorite Eyes Cream (zinc 22%).

There are lots of good eye area moisturizers to use before bed. Some of the top eye creams are Replenix Intensive Eye Lightening Serum, La Mer Eye Cream, or Skinceuticals Eye Balm.  This is also a list of eye creams I have personally tried and highly recommend. The top and best ones are the organic ones because it is chemical free and will not change your hormonal balance. We highly recommend the Eye repair for crow's feet cream
Botox treats the first cause for crow’s feet  – too active muscles scrunching on the delicate eye area skin. By relaxing the muscles a little, the Botox for eyes treats the crow’s feet, making them softer and sometimes eliminates them completely.
You want a skilled injector so that you don’t get that blank or frozen look when you’re smiling. Botox for crow’s feet will cost $300 to $600, depending on your age and where you live. And, as with all Botox injections, will have to be repeated every 3-4 months at first and then every 4 to 6 months for maintenance. Botox will take 5 to 7 days to take effect.
As with frown lines, using Botox in conjunction with a filler often gives a nicer result than either one alone.
